About The Project

The client had requested a ribbed panel for the walls but there were no off the shelf products available and it was not possible to bend the aluminium panel with ribs in it so this is where we came up with the idea to used pressure plate and caps colour coded to create the rib effect.

  • There was also a high U value to be achieved so this required us to double up insulation so we had to install 2 layers all fully taped
  • We also used our own Sperrin app to record pictures for quality purposes so we have a full record of everything that was installed
  • Architect also wanted all fixings to be hidden, so all fixings on the ribbed panels hidden behind the ribs and on the cassettes the fixings are hidden in a recessed joint.
  • There was also a high U value to be achieved so this required us to double up insulation so we had to install 2 layers all fully taped
  • We used Kingspan K15 insulation which was fully taped, a hilti horizontal helping hand and rail system and AIM fire barriers
  • The panels were bespoke aluminium panels with colour coded pressure plates and caps to give a ribbed effect and bespoke aluminium cassettes
  • We also provided all the rainwater goods for the downpipes
  • All the panels and rainwater goods where provided by Kytun from Donegal

The panel system for this project was totally bespoke as there was nothing to the architects detail available off the shelf. This included a cill then flat panel then a flashing with the cassette over the top then the pressure plate and cap fitted on the flat panel
